Arrogant, Abusive and Disruptive -- and a Doctor

This is the title of a New York Times article published today. "Experts say the leading offenders are specialists in high-pressure fields like neurosurgery, orthopedics and cardiology." Does this sound familiar to you? It certainly brings back lots of memories, problems and many solutions. After being discharged as a patient I wanted to help my doctor to avoid similar incidents with his future patients. I offered unconditional help by revisiting my perspective in hope of finding reflection and a plan. He politely declined. I insisted on the condition that he should initiate contact with me if he wanted help. Two years later I have not heard from him. Am I a fool? Maybe. The door is still open.

Carlos, it's so recognisable, isn't it? I remember my visit to one of the leading US hospitals with a cellulitis in my left leg a year ago. The ultrasound nurse told me that she was asked to examine my right leg. Next, the doc in charge of the ER told his supervisor that I had a problem with my right leg.
Confronting him with the fact that he twice made the same mistake, whereas it was more than obvious that we were dealing with my left leg (about 3 times as big as my right) his answer was: "you keep your feet crossed, that makes me confused".
When discussing the treatment it was soon decided that this could not be MRSA related. I received antibiotics in the hospital. Afterwards I found out, the drip contained an MRSA specific antibiotics. I rest my case.
